After some resent poor form the Legends needed to step up their game to have any chance of playing off for a decent finals position, and coming up against the bottom side gave them a chance to prove they were worth it......... After about 2 minutes they were 1-0 down thanks to a carving run from the southsiders, but this only proved to settle the never of the legends and they soon got into the rhythm, quick dumps and movement through the hands soon opened up gaps for Golden Boots and the Man with the Spanish Tan. The passes began to stick and the moves continued to flow with G.C pulling out a brilliant switch to find himself in such a big gap it even surprised himself as he casually strolled over the line to put the legends ahead. The confidence was up and Bec's pushed it to its peak with the old look away pass sending the crowd wild and putting Golden boots in for an easy try. At the first half the legends were up 4-1 (it could have been more but we wont go into that incident of no one backing up the dummy half....)
The second half second half proved a tighter contest with the southsiders coming back with some soft tries. Dave 'the man' Manley showed just how tough the game had become un-charachteristicly squealing at the ref for a free kick after a nasty hit by the crazy Canadian and the Hulk was still on the side-lines requiring resuscitation. The legends managed to keep the gap and stay ahead as they tightened up their defence in the later part of the game. The game ended up 7-5 and has put the legends in a position to challenge the top 4.
